    Hi Aussie

I wish to express my admiration of the Kokoda Trekking teams that competed in the Kokoda Challenge, i had the chance to have a bit of a chat with the team at the briefing night especially the young man who had done the actual track in 17 hours (apologies as i cannot recall his name).

These men are a great example of the people of P.N.G always friendly & smiling and they did their country proud in the event against a mixture of teams of professional athletes who were out to set or better previous times (in the region of 12 hours) & teams who wanted to complete the 96 klm as best they could.

For the record the Sci-Fleet Toyota Landcruisers completed the event in 29 hours and 2 minutes only 12 hours behind the P.N.G teams (should ask them to do it twice to give the old blokes a chance).

    Regards

    Paul

Update 25th September: Trekkers walked out in Kokoda today as planned and are now at Russell Eroro's family block where they are spending the night. Tomorrow they will travel back into Port Moresby mid afternoon.
