MemberCongratulations to all the runners (Hi Andrew – well done) and also to all the people who assisted along the Track. There must have been a big team of volunteers who helped the runners at all the check points and along the way. Well done.
PS It is raining and about 11 degrees at midday here in Colac – sounds like Templeton's!31/08/2008 at 6:39 am #101043jckresq
MemberWell done Brendan and everyone else who completed the race. An amazing effort, one that most people find hard to do in many days let alone hours! Well done.

MemberCongratulations once again to all the participants of this years Kokoda Challenge and congratulations to Brendan & Nesta for winning their respective Titles. Congratulations to Gail, Russell and all the KTL team for again providing this wonderful opportunity for anyone to take part in.
I still struggle with the times that these people are completing the Kokoda Track, knowing how I felt on a daily basis after completing only an average of 12k per day, it really is astounding.
I'm sure though everyone is enjoying a well earned rest and hopefully a massage!
Bestwishes

MemberHi Gail, Congratulations on yet another successful KTL-sponsored Kokoda Challenge. Sounds like it is getting bigger and better every year.
Good to see a big number of competitors too from the KTL side.
A big, big congratulations to Brendan Buka for clocking an incredible time of 16 hours 34 minutes and 5 seconds. That make him the fastest man to-date, to ever run Kokoda Trail!

MemberHi Gail, Congratulations on a wonderful event! I have forwarded the information on to our trekkers as we were all very interested in how the boys and Lu Lu went this year. It is hard to imagine where they get their energy from given I have been sitting with my feet up since finishing on Thursday.
Kindest regards,
Amanda
Editors Note:
About 8 of our competitors walked in with Amanda's group last Thursday – had two days rest then turned back for the race. Wayne Urina who came second was also on this trek along with Andrew and Horace Yauga (Amanda's personal porter).

Member16:34 – that's unbelievable! Please congratulate Brendon, I can't believe he just keeps getting faster. And Nesta Gipine has done an awesome time also to break the womens record (and most of the blokes). Big Wayno did well too coming second – I think he beat his old time (must have quit the ciggies?). It looked close between Horace and Andrew – did Horace outsprint Andrew to the finish line? I really wish I was there to run with the guys again, maybe next year. I love Dons comment on finishing, I am sure after a couple of nights rest he will change his mind.
Damon…
Editors Note: Damon Goerke still retains the crown of being the fastest 'white man' on the track

MemberCongratulations to all competitors. Getting to the start line requires an enormous amount of courage.
I'd like to know, what was Don's Comment?
Editors Note: Do not quote me but I am led to believe it was 'once is enough, never again'.
It might however be like childbirth, women think it at the time but somehow babies keep being born so perhaps in time he will decide if he wants to take these boys on once again.01/09/2008 at 7:01 am #101053Brian
MemberWow! 16 hours 34 minutes Brendon just how do you do it all I can say is Wow! and congratulations to you the fastest man ever on the track and three years in a row.
Also my congratulations to all those competitors who started I know some did not make it to the end but the fact that you started and gave it a go deserves congratulations.
Special congratulations and thanks to all those organising the event especially to all those volunteers who assisted my only disappointment was that I was not there to enjoy the day with you. Maybe next year you never know.
Gail am looking forward to seeing some photos on your web site very soon.
I had a couple of beers for those taking part whilst watching the web site as Gail entered updates from time to time over the day.
Grest job by all concerned maybe I will meet some of you towards the end of the month when on the track myself.
