MemberHave you ever wondered about purchasing a mobile phone and were not too sure where to go to purchase one or how to go about it. If so, help is on its way. I researched over the weekend this information and it turns out we have an agent right here on our doorstep. MemberQUICKSTART INSTRUCTION – PREPAID SIM CARDS:
MAKING CALLS:
Pre paid calls are dialed the same as post paid calls.
To make calls to this Iridium phone from land based or Mobile phones within Australia:Dial: 0011 8816 315 25674
To make calls to this Iridium phone from another Iridium Phone:
Dial: 00 8816 315 25674To make calls from the Iridium phone to land based or Mobile Phones:
1. Dial '00' or hold the zero key down until '+' appears on the screen.
Dial the country code (Eg, 61 for Australia.)
Dial the area code without the '0' (Eg. Victoria ='3').
Then enter the phone number, Eg: 00 61 3 9871 1200.
Press 'OK' to initiate the call.- If dialing a mobile, dial '00' or hold the zero key down until '+' appears on the screen:
Dial the country code (Eg, 61 for Australia).
DO NOT include the area code OR the '0' at the beginning of the mobile number.
Eg. 00 61 419 123 456.
Press 'OK' to initiate the call.EMERGENCY CALLS: Dial 112, which directs calls to 000 in Australia.
NOTE: When you receive an incoming call make sure you extend the antenna before accepting the call
VOICEMAIL & MESSAGING:
Voicemail will only be available if that option has been selected when connecting. To have voicemail connected please contact Customer Service.
To use Voicemail successfully you should follow the 'Voicemail Setup Instructions' that are issued with your SIM card.
Text Messages Received:
To ensure messages are sent to your phone from the Iridium Gateway, you should manually re-register the phone onto the network at regular intervals by switching the phone off then on.
You should also dial the Iridium test number (Free Call): 00 8816 3111 0006, you will hear a recorded message informing you that 'You have reached the Iridium Satellite Tempe Gateway, your access to the Iridium Global Network. Welcome.' The Gateway will then forward any stored messages to your phone.
1. If a text message is received, it will come up on the screen.
2. The options are then: Delete Message, Return Call (Dials into Mailbox), Go to Next Message.
3. By dialling into the Mailbox messages can be re-sent to your phone.
4. See Voicemail Instructions for how to access your mailbox.
Sending Text Messages to the phone:Email: Every Iridium customer is given an Iridium E-mail ID of 881631XXXXXX@msg.iridium.com Messages sent to this address via email will be delivered to your phone or pager.
Iridium Web Page: – There is also a feature on the Iridium web page (http://www.iridium.com) 'Send a satellite Message? that allows you to enter the customers phone or pager number and send a text message of up to 160 characters per message.'
- There is no charge when a message is sent via E-mail or the Internet.
ACCOUNT BALANCE NOTIFICATION:
Remaining unit balance will be announced at the beginning of each call. The remaining unit balance can be checked by dialing ?2888? from the Iridium phone. This is a free call.
Your call will disconnect automatically when your account balance reaches zero. Calls may only be placed to check balance ('2888' from the Iridium phone) or to Customer service ('2652' from the Iridium phone) to recharge account.
RECHARGING:
Accounts may be recharged by contacting TR Telecom Customer Service either by dialing 2652 from the Iridium phone or within Australia from mobile or fixed phone 1300 550 014.
Payment for recharging an account must be made on a credit card.
A recharge resets the expiration date of a prepaid account. Activation charges do not apply when recharging an existing account.

MemberTo ensure letters are beatific to your buzz from the Iridium Gateway, you should manually re-register the buzz assimilate the arrangement at approved intervals by switching the buzz off again on.
