Boss Meri
MemberIntroducing JESSIE AIRE one of our most popular & fittest experienced porters. Jessie did a really big favour for us today and we would like to say a big thank you to him. Jessie was supposed to walk off the track tomorrow with trek 1029 but was asked to turn back in the direction he just come from and run the sat phone they were using into Pat at Kagi who has been having problems with his. Jessie did not hesitate, turned back from Alola area and he was in Kagi by 3pm. Jessie has always finished in the top 4 or any of our Kokoda Challenge races and today he showed he has lost none of his speed across the track. Well done Jessie, appreciate your attitude and your help! On another earlier trek trekkers flew over to Popondetta but forgot the food backpack which was left at the airport.
Jessie who was waiting in Kokoda for the trek, drove with the driver back down the road to Popondetta, got the food backpack, back to Kokoda and was at Isurava Village around 6pm that night having caught up to the lead group. I first met Jessie when he was young and single…still young but now a married man with a couple of kids! Jessie comes from a village by the name of Ajeka which is a short distance away from Orohaven Pija where our trekkers overnight. His brother Cyprian also walks for us and is at Kagi tonight with trek 1030. Pat must have been surprised and relieved to see Jessie walk into Kagi as now he can stop using the Kokoda Track two way radio and sending text messages on his GPS he is carrying. Remember, providing you give us enough notice, you can select any porter you see on our website such as Jessie Aire as your personal porter.
