The Kokoda Track is said to be one of the most amazing and challenging trecks linking the southern coast and northern coast of Papua New Guinea. I am a year 12 student and for my major assignment in tourism I decided to look at Kokoda because I found it personally so fascinating and because a relative’s plane crashed in the War near Kokoda with the remains still there today.

I have decided to look at whether the economic benefits of walking Kokoda Track outweigh environment concerns? Having never travelled to the destination I am interested in other people’s experiences and insights on impacts that tourism has caused at Kokoda (positive and negative), how many memorial plaques there are situated on Kokoda Track and I suppose just about Kokoda, the Fuzzy Wuzzy Angels and how they help out on treks and enviromental concerns that tourism has caused at the Track.

    Thankyou rolleyes.gif
