Hi all. Greetings from British Columbia, Canada. I'm so glad I stumbled upon this forum! Anyway, I'm Caroline, and I have unfortunately NOT had the opportunity to hike the Kokoda trail yet. I'm just starting out my research on what I'll have to do and what I'll have to organize to make it happen in September 2004 – or possibly August.. As of yet, I am solo, although I am in the process of convincing my cousin to come along (we both have of plenty of backbacking experience).
Is anyone else considering a trip around the same time? If so, I'd love to hear from you, about how to go about organizing a travel group, and whatnot.

    Thanks,
    Caroline.

Hi Carolyn, many thanks for popping into our website and posting a thread on our Forum which is after all why we set this up in the first instance.

If you are travelling on the cheap, ie a backpacker, we can organise someone to take you out on the trail.

It is better though, if you can join a group as you will have a more enjoyable time and meet a lot more people.

Keep an eye out on our board as there is bound to be bookings around that time of the year that you might like to join.

Our group of guys are really nice proud people and just like in the Fun Run / come Walk held in Ela Beach, Port Moresby Sunday 31st August, 2003 – they really took it in their stride.

Pictured here with probably the most famous woman in Papua New Guinea, our friend, Lady Carol Kidu, Minister for Welfare and Social Development. She even invited our international guests to her village when they return from the Kokoda Trail.

    Hi Caroline,

I went on the trek this year (Sept – Oct). We started out as a group of 3 and gave our details to Gail. She posted this on the web-site and we ended up with 11 trekkers.

I strongly recommend using this company as they will look after you all the way. You will not only see the track, but will experience village life and get to know the great people that the porters and guides are.

Hi, my name is Michelle. I'm from Australia and am interested in doing the Kokoda trek around the same time as you! Would love to join you if you're still interested! Have you already organised a group? Thanks!
