    Hi Charisse,

I am fluppy (Brooke). Welcome to the forum. I have found this place to literally be my 2nd home. It is full of great advice, helpful people and amazing stories. You will learn much from the people on this site – I know I have.

Hi Charisse, welcome to the forum I created on our website to help all trekkers whether they are walking with Kokoda Trekking or not, to prepare for their up coming trek.

Also to the people who are only considering such a trek, the forum is full of information. If you have any questions you would like to ask, please feel free to create a thread just like this one and any number of our forum members will answer it for you. Sometimes the mere mention of 'Kokoda' builds a thought in one's mind that its really hard and can only be done by the supreme fit trekker.

I for one can prove this wrong as I walked it and if you met me you would agree that I do not fit the profile of a super fit trekker, quite the contrary. I had to train hard for three months walking up stairs at the office where I worked at the time but hey I DID IT!!! so I often think if I can, anyone can with a bit of planning and dedication to achieve the dream, ie have the mental attitude to carry it out and put one foot after another and have a clear goal.

I often think comments on my forum sound better coming from an outsider then myself as my comments could or might be considered as trying to 'sell' a trek. As a result sometimes I notice posts but sit back and wait for others to answer knowing they have nothing to do with Kokoda Trekking so you may take it more seriously and take on board the many suggestions made.

Please read heaps of their suggestions if you intend to trek, any enjoy the track; the history; the challenge and more importantly, the people who will look after you all the way! They truly are your fuzzy wuzzy angel and are just so proud to get their trekker complete their trek. When anyone is air lifted off they feel its a sense of failure to them.

Bye for now, look forward to seeing more of your postings.
