Today 16th September, 2016, PNG celebrates its 41st year of Independence. As many of you are aware, I went to live in PNG in 1972 prior to 1975 when they gained their independence. I have seen their ups and downs; their highs and lows. I have lived in Mt Hagen; Lae; Goroka & Port Moresby as well as having a lot to do with the Oro Province predominately Kokoda & the trail itself. I have employed hundreds of people and worked with several proud PNGean's, many of whom are now at the height of their careers. It is sincerely hoped I have given opportunities to many & years of friendship to several others. I have tried my best to grow tourism not just with offering Kokoda Trekking tours but creating interest for the whole of PNG with my other website
http://www.pngbd.com Today reminds me of the time, several years ago,when I received an email from a rich Taiwanese by the name of Frank Lin. He asked if I could suggest somewhere for him to travel as he loved photography. He followed my suggestion and later on the way out of PNG he gave me a copy of his photographs, well over 3000 of them. Frank arrived with his IT employee (Tom) by his side not just for company but to make sure he did not loose any of his precious photographs. PNG offers such diversity and if you are looking for something different in a tourism destination, PNG is unique.
