A lone trekker David Beins headed out to Kokoda today to walk with Cyprian Haera one of our 20 hour Kokoda Challenge runners who promises not to take him as fast over the track.

Update 18th June: Our guide Cyprian Haera radioed in today and it seems they are flying out on the track as they have already reached Nauro Village where they will spend the night.

The first night they spent at Deniki and then onto Eora Creek and then straight to Efogi where they spent last night. This morning they were off and per above ended up at Nauro Village around 3pm this afternoon.

Hence they are definitely on plan to arrive at Owers' Corner this coming Friday as tomorrow they will head down to Ua'Ule Creek.

Update 19th June: Cyprian radioed in from Ioribaiwa Village to say they were on target and will walk off the Kokoda Trail tomorrow. Not long after their radio call they were all heading down to Ua'Ule Creek.

Tomorrow Cyprian plans on giving us a call from Imita Ridge advising of his pick up time at Owers' Corner.

Before climbing up to Owers' Corner they will have to cross Goldie River where they will possibly have their last swim ….

Back at the Gateway Hotel where we dropped David off. As I type this his team of boys are up there with him celebrating their successful trek.

Thanks David for choosing to walk with Kokoda Trekking.
