MemberThe group of four policemen, a scientist and three doctors arrived safely in Port Moresby yesterday after completing the 9 day trek.
Trekkers John Geary, Phil Copsey, Dale REDFORD, Garry FAIR, Fiona Whelan, Suzanne Gray, Lucas Talbot and Jane Aitken left Port Moresby earlier today for Australia.
The group flew in to Kokoda on August 22 and trekked toward Ower's Corner.

MemberAnd such has been the tradition since we ventured into trekking. Trekkers after a day of their arrival are givne the chance of celebrating the night with the porters and guides before heading back home.
As tour operator, Extreme Kokoda Trekking Adventure Tours, takes this time to recognise the trekkers for their acheivement by presenting them certificates and dishing out T- Shirts with Kokoda print on them, as a souvenir.
The trekkers raised the Australian flag on their arrival at Brigade Hill…

MemberIt was a moment of silence as the eight Aussie trekkers with their porters and guides paid their respect to Australian soldiers who lost their lives during WWII along the trail.
The guys stood in silence and paid respect to those killed during the campaign..

MemberNow that the battle is over for Geary and his group, two more treks for the month of August is about to be completed.
That is Pam Christie's group of Japanese and three guys from Aussie who left on Thursday afternoon for Ower's Corner.
Pam Christie's group is now heading for Russel's Block in Kokoda where they will complete their trek and are expected to fly back to Port Moresby tommorrow while three Aussie male trekkers are on their way to Isurava today.
While all is about to be completed, the three will extend their travel towards Bona, Gona and Popondetta via PMV. It is not usual for trekkers to go all the way to visit this evident war sites but is seems this group of gentlemen will see interesting details of war in the area.
