TODAY – Tuesday, 12th of October was Day 3 for three separate group ofe trekkers on the trail who set of on the same date – October 10, 2004.

While each of the group are a day ahead of each other because of different trek schedules – inevitably everyone's getting the same kick out of the trail….blisters, aching backs, tired knees – well maybe not so much for the other groups since it is only day three. But there's more to come.

However hard it may seemed, all the trekkers are privileged to have some fun and entertaintment during their walk. All the while they are entertained by our porters and guides who while walking and carrying loads on their back would not resist to sit down and play a song to the tune of their small ukuleles.

Porters also treat their trekkers to a ball of football or volleyball and in doing so involve villagers to be part of the games just for fun.

This afternoon we managed to catch Kingsley on the radio and informed us his group – the fast trek team are now heading down to Kagi. Once there they will pick up their food supply for the the next three days and head on towards Efogi where they are most likely to camp overnight.

Everyones doing great and likely to push through towards Efogi. Kingsley said: "Everyone's are okay…all the trekkers are okay. They enjoy hearing the boys singing and bangin away on their ukulele.

"The sun is up and it seems pretty hot today but the singing makes it even more easier," Kingsley said.

Three more days to go. Good work- keep it up guys!

The beautiful scenery of Kokoda…..Can be very rewarding – At times make one forget how hard it could be..

The second group of trekkers – 8 day trek – are currently battling their way up towards Templetons 2. They will settle down here once they arrive and camp for the night.

We were not able to reach our guide Eric but word from Russel who as usual kept in contact will all his treks – was that everyone was in a pretty good shape.

Meanwhile the 9 Day trek is strugglling towards Eora Creek. They left the battel field today and will camp at Eora Creek.

Russel informed us that everyone's doing fine. "The trekkers are all fine….the boys were laughing their heads of when I called," he said.

After spending some time in Port Moresby Russel is back in Kokoda village – he is currently organising for two group of trekkers coming in tommorow and obviously enjoying eating home baked bananas.

We got him on the radio while he was enjoying his meal. And mentioning to us was just enough to get our mouth watering.

More updates on the three treks tommorrow.

    Ends//
