    We at Kokoda Trekking (KTL) are proud to announce that BRENDAN BUKA now officially holds the record for the fastest crossing ever in both directions on the Kokoda Track / Kokoda Trail. His records are listed below:

    OWERS' CORNER to KOKODA – set August 2006 – Time 17 Hours 49 minues

    KOKODA to OWERS' Corner – set August 2007 – Time 17 Hours 20 minutes

    OWERS' CORNER TO KOKODA – set August 2008 – Time 16 Hours 34 minutes

    Kokoda Trekking (KTL) also took out the team event with the following five competitors:

    • Brendan Buka
    • Luana Naga
    • Cyprian Aire
    • Cliff Taimbari
    • Duggy Eroro

    All five competitors collected K500.00 each.

    Update 31st August, 2008: Brendan Buka has done it again. He has just smashed his previous trek record by arriving in Kokoda in a time of 16hours 34 minutes and 5 seconds.

    Kokoda Trekking Ltd (KTL) congratulates BRENDAN BUKA on once again becoming the TREK CHAMPION!

    Good stuff Brendan, now the 16 hour man! You are such an inspiration, when we were on the track that the other porters and young boys from the villages all wanted to talk to you and look up to you. Keep up the good work!
