Hi Warren, it might be wise to give some indication of when you would like to trek.

Alternatively you could kick off a trek of your own and ask others to join you. Most of our treks start this way as not everyone can talk people into walking the trail as they think it is too hard.

I for one proved if I can walk the Kokoda Trail almost anyone can. Besides the stats this year speak for themselves. With training it is very achievable with 200 trekkers and only 5 that didnt make it.

The only thing you have to keep in mind when starting a trek is that flights only go in and out of kokoda on Wednesday's and Sunday's. Hence if you choose to walk from Kokoda to Ower's Corner you have to fly in on those two days. If you wish to walk from this end towards Kokoda you have to plan to arrive the day before a Wednesday or Sunday…overnight…then the next day fly back into Port Moresby.

Once you have a date in mind, complete a booking sheet and we will see what happens.

Many thanks for feedback Aussie. I plan to participate in the April 26th ( Anzac 06 ) trek which is advertised on your site. It states that the walk will start on the Kokoda end of the trail and finish at Owen's Cnr. As of joining site no one had signed up so I was looking for expressions of interest. Am also attempting to incite involvement from my end…kind regards Warren

No worries Warren, early days yet. This year we had 160 or thereabouts in a 2-3 week period so anticipate next year numbers should rise.

We are also working on various options of treks we will do for 2006 to spread them out a bit more….ie some going to Bomana service first and then starting out on the 26th and others finishing on the 24th from both directions…stay tuned for further updates on our booking schedule page.

Just some of our Anzac Day trekkers on the day they arrived back from their trek taken at the Gateway Hotel:
