    A group of mates headed out to Kokoda this morning for a 7 day trek back to Ower's Corner.

    Update 12th September, 2005;

    Trek 148
    After spending their first night at Isurava village yesterday evening, the group was up early by 6am, this morning to kick start their second day of walk. All trekkers looked fit, strong and ready to head on to their next destination.
    Although, they came through a tough start in the beginning, which was yesterday, all trekkers did ok and made it to the top without a single injury.

    At the moment, the group?s current location is at Isurava Battlefield; the trekkers are looking around and taking pictures of the memorial site. Soon, they will head on down to Alola village and from there, continue on to Templeton?s Crossing where they will spend the night.

    ?Yesterday when we started walking, the trekkers were really struggling up the test mountain, but today, I can see that the trekkers are doing really good,? said their guide Paulo, who called on the two-way-radio this morning at Isurava Battlefield.

    Latest on the trail;

    Trek 148
    The group is now at Eora Creek, where they will stop for their lunch break. The other four trekkers plus some porters have already gone up to their lunch spot, while the other two, Ian and Greg are yet to catch up, they are slowly making their way up with their guide, Paulo.

    All trekkers are well, still going strong and doing fine. They were all eager to hear the live cricket scores between Australia and England. When I gave them the report, all were not too pleased to hear that Australia is out for 367.

    Other then that, all is well, weather looks fine and all the trekkers seem to be doing really good.

    Latest report;

    Trek 148
    This group has now decided not to continue on to Templeton?s Crossing 2, but to spend the night at Eora Creek.

    All trekkers are fine and doing ok, only their legs can't carry on to the next destination, and that's ok, they need all the rest they can get tonight, to regain enough strenght for tomorrows walk.

    Other then that, everythings fine, everyone's ok and weather looks good, so should be a grate afternoon.

    Until then, more updates will be posted up tomorrow.

    Update 13th September, 2005;

    Trek 148
    The group now side in Templeton?s Crossing 1, where all trekkers and porters are taking a tea break after a tough start this morning. But despite all that, the trekkers did absolutely grate, no injuries or problems, everyone walked well, maneuvered every step with great care, and made it to their tea spot, without a bruise, so that's a good report.

    Soon and when they are all done, the group will head on up to Mt Bellamy, to be followed by Myola Junction.

    ?I?m not too sure whether or not we?ll be camping at Myola Junction tonight or moving on. We still have a lot of time, which means we can continue on. But at the same time, it all depends on the trekkers as well, their movements and the decision they make. If they want us to carry on, we will carry on, but if they want us to stop and camp at Myola, then we will do so,? said their guide, Paulo.

    Other then that, the weather looks fine, no sign of rain, so should be a good day, everyone?s fine and doing fantastic.

    Update 14th September, 2005;

    Trek 148
    Although, the group walked a long distance from Eora Creek all through to Efogi 1 where they camped for the night, everyone did tremendously well, no difficulties or struggles; all 6 trekkers handled it well and made it safely to their campsite, without a bruise.

    Yes! The group spent the night at Efogi 1, and this morning were up early for yet another day?s walk. The group was at the top of Menari look-out-point, when their guide called in from his two-way-radio to inform us of their whereabouts and the group?s conditions.

    ?Everyone?s ok; we are now up at Menari look-out-point after just left Brigade Hill, a few minutes ago. The trekkers have gone a head of me with the others porters, heading down to Menari, they are all doing grate. The weather yesterday was cloudy but no rain, today looks fine only it?s dull,? reported Paulo.

    Deb, I will pass on Ian?s message, when they give me a call at Menari village.

    The group arrived in Menari village a few hours after I spoke to their guide at Menari look-out-point. At Menari, they had lunch and now heading toward Brown River.

    All trekkers are still going well and doing fantastic. 5 trekkers have gone ahead with the other porters, while Ian is behind with the guide and one other porter. His ok, only the sun is very hot at this time, and the heat is slowing him down, but his ok and his doing grate.

    Ian sends this message to Deb;

    ?Thank you for the message. It?s a tonic, doing it tough, but the boys are supporting me through. The guide is magnificent, taking good care of me.
    Lots of love, looking forward to seeing you on Sunday.?

    Linda, Peter has gone ahead with the other trekkers so couldn?t pass on his message, but will do so when they get to Nauro.

    The group had lunch here, at Menari Village.
