Tragic News: Some of you may have followed our posting of one of our porters passing away late last year following a PMV (similar to a bus) crash.
We have just been advised that Mavis his wife who was also injured in the accident has lost her fight for life and passed away Tuesday 20th March in Popondetta hospital where she was admitted a few weeks ago suffering from Malaria.
They leave behind, 5 small children. There is no social security in PNG but fortunately the extended family will take care of these children we can only hope as they grow up in the town of Kokoda.

You may recall how twins Alan and Peter Hazell returned to PNG to pay their respects to the family of Timias who acted as Alan's personal porter.
