Trek 76
14 trekkers head out early hours yesterday morning to Owers Corner to start their journey. The group then made a stop at the foot of Imita Ridge around 11:30am, where they had lunch before proceeding to their camp destination.All trekkers did great in the first few hours of their walk, there was no say of anyone, having or facing problems.
We did not get a respond from the group after their lunch, due to the two-way-radio not transmitting well. If we do get a clear reception today, we'll update you on their latest.
Trek 76, consists of the following trekkers;
Will Zouch, Steve Le Breton, Garry Ridland, Craig Smith, David Zouch, Maria Wood, Heather Forster, Mike Little, Matt Little & Dan LittleAnd joined by this lot of trekkers; Debbie Lewis, Kris Liebke, Doug Liebke & Paul Cooper. All total of 14 trekkers.

The group?s first camp was at Ua-ule creek, where they spent the night. All trekkers did ok, thought it was tough climbing up Imita Ridge after their lunch yesterday, no one had difficulties, they all did well and all were fine at the end of the day.Today just got a call from the group guide Justice Evari, who said, the group is currently located at Ioribaiwa Ridge. They will have a few minutes of rest there and push on to Ofi creek where they will have lunch. So far, all trekkers are still doing ok and are all well.
Weather?s ok, only a few clouds gathering, we don?t know if it?s going to rain, but we'll just have to wait and find out later on this evening.

MemberNot sure if this is the best way to pass on information to the Trekkers but can somebody please tell Doug and Kris that the mighty NSW Blues smashed Qld in Origin 3. Final score NSW 32 beat QLD 10 <img src="http://developer2/board/upload/style_emoticons//biggrin.gif” style=”vertical-align:middle” emoid=”:D” border=”0″ alt=”biggrin.gif” />
Oh yeah, and we hope they're doing well too. <img src="http://developer2/board/upload/style_emoticons//smile.gif” style=”vertical-align:middle” emoid=”:)” border=”0″ alt=”smile.gif” />

The group spent their last night at Ofi creek, and started bright and early this morning. Now at Nauro, all trekkers are ok, still doing terrific, including the two younger trekkers, Matt and Dan Little, the twosome are doing extremely well.At this time, still no reports of anyone having problems or difficulties, so that?s good news, weather looking fine at their end, so that must make it ok for the trekkers.
Messages from Kokoda Trail;
Paul Cooper sends this to his wife; ?Everything?s going well?
Kris Liebke; ?Thank you for the messages. Hello to Peter, Henry, Toby and Pam, my knees are ok. Doug is doing ok and we?re both fine.?

They started early this morning, so it didn?t take them long before arriving at their camping area, Nauro. This gives the trekkers enough time to rest those tired bodies and legs of theirs, after a fair bit of climb up Maguli Range, and also some time to go look around the village or do other fun stuff, which I suppose, they will or might want to do at this time.Other then that, all the trekkers are well, still in great conditions and they are looking forward for the walk tomorrow.
Weather;
They had a few showers this morning and also the night before, but it was ok, there weren?t many leeches around, so it wasn?t that bad.Message from Debbie Lewis Kokoda Trail;
?That nice, thank you. The lipstick hasn?t budged in since we left?.hahaha.?

The group is now heading to Efogi 1; their current location, Menari look-out point heading to Brigade Hill. All trekkers are ok and still doing terrific.I haven?t spoken to any of the trekkers this morning, so haven't passed on any messages, obviously everyone?s walking. I?ll have to wait till they get to a better spot or location, so that I can pass all messages to loved ones on the trail.
Otherwise, everything?s ok, everyone?s fine; we?ll hear from them when they get to their next destination.

MemberTrek Update 9th July:When Justus made contact today, it was very hard to hear him properly but he managed to let us know that all trekkers are doing just great and that tonight they had hoped to camp at Myola Junction.
Also at Myola Junction more than likely would have been our other three treks – trek 76 heading towards Kokoda and the other two treks heading towards this end Ower's Corner.
The boys love meeting up with their wantoks (relatives/friends)sharing stories/singing songs etc, kinda like a celebration. The guides and porters will be getting excited soon as they begin their last couple of days walk and head for home. At the highest point, Mt Bellamy the boys smell home and its hard to stop them at this point as they start to miss their families and know home is just around another couple of corners.
