MemberThis week has been very hectic for us as we have played host to another lot of trekkers heading out on the kokoda trail. The team is made up as follows:
1. Janet Cowan (Headmistress of a Private School in Geelong, Victoria.
2. Husband Geoff Cowan – (Accountant)
3. Philip Bourke – Software Programmer from Victoria who has been travelling around PNG. He has so far visited Tufi (said it was great); Goroka Show which he thoroughly enjoyed; Off to Kundiawa and Betty's Trout Farm to walk Mt Wilhelm; down to Madang staying in Bungalows on the waterfront; then onto Port Moresby arriving here on the 23rd September.
4. Three school teacher buddies from Cairns – Shane O'Connor, Ray Freeman & Jeff Harvey.
5. Joey (Joseph) Fitzpatrick – a good looking 20 year old globetrotter who just made up his mind at the last minute to put PNG on his travel map.
6. George Smith – we have found to be the quiet one – Engineer from Brisbane
7. Ted Everett Warren – all the way from Colorado, USA. Ted turns out to be of mixed heritage. His mother was Australian and his father American. Has always been interested in Kokoda and is very excited to be heading out on the trail.
8. Grant Turner – another school teacher from Innisfail. Came up on the weekend and arrived in Port Moresby from Madang on the same flight as Philip yesterday. Both had no idea they would be on the same trek.
9. Jason Kovacs – he had a head start coz he flew in on Sunday and took off on Monday to Popondetta. Jason hired a car and our guide Russel and went to Buna before meeting up with the other trekkers in Kokoda today.24th September Trek Team Members – Jackson's Airport Moresby:

Geoff and Janet Cowan, seen here with Joey Fitpatrick from Sydney, waiting to book in for the flight to Kokoda, 24th September, 2003. On the right in this photograph is Hanson who hails from the Oro Province but is not a porter or guide but an artist. He is the guy who paints our Kokoda murals:

Just one of our canvas murals that our artists have been working on. This mural was supposed to go out on the trek today, but the owner of Tufi Dive Resort, Linda Honey, wants to take it to America with her.
It represents a suggestion we have of 'Pain and Pleasure Tours'. You can trek the trail which Linda hopes will be the pain….then head to her resort for the 'Pleasure'!
Two lots of accommodation available:
1) Cheap guest house accommodation at K20 per night much like on the trail.
2) Accommodation in the resort with all the mod cons of home.Your choice! but a great way to unwind after the trek.
