Congratulations are in order for this group as they walked off the track today at Owers' Corner. Apparently it was cold; windy and miserable so they asked to be picked up this afternoon instead of tomorrow morning. Trekkers are now relaxing at their accommodation and as I type, our staff are still making their way to our base. Well done…[Read more]

Apologise for no updates last night as we have been experiencing several blackouts that last up to 6 hours a time.

Last night trekkers found themselves at Agulogo.

Shane and Arnold phoned today. Just like the others walking in the opposite direction, the track this time has thrown everything at them. Crossing Brown River today caused them a…[Read more]

Trekkers had a short day today from Efogi to Kagi but perhaps just like Jonathan O'Loughlin in this photograph, they sighed relief when they reached the village as it was a tough walk. Tomorrow they are heading to Eora Creek for the night as the plan is to be at Isurava Memorial on Anzac Day.Jonathan in Kagi.jpg

Last night was spent at Eora Creek. Sorry no update as living here in Boroko, PNG at the moment, the power goes off for up to 6 hours at a time, so frustrating!

Trek 955: Its been a wet few days for this trek as they battled the elements and head to the finish line in Kokoda. Mud, mud, mud according to Pat when he phoned this afternoon. He…[Read more]

Received a phone call from Pat to say they reached 1900/Myola Junction this afternoon around 3pm. They are sharing the campsite area with a couple of other trekking companies. It was a slippery walk up to Kagi today but everyone handled it ok and made good progress.

Tonight they had a singalong and trekkers are enjoying their music as they sit…[Read more]

Heard from Shane that they are all good and now in Efogi. Earlier today they stopped for lunch with trek 955 walking in the opposite direction. Tomorrow they are looking forward to crossing paths with trek 981 when they meet somewhere between Efogi and Agulogo. Shane is already talking about beers so must be looking forward to one when they walk…[Read more]

I have not heard from this trek today but according to our GPS they have reached their destination of 1900/Myola Junction.

Earlier today they would have walked through Templeton's Crossing.

Andrew just called on the sat phone and said the weather has not been kind to them and they have experienced a fair bit of rain.

He also added that the track is wet and slippery. Pat further down at Efogi said the same thing so I did not have any good news to tell him.

Apart from that, dinner was about to be served and the trekkers were all happy.

Trekkers have now reached the half way point of Efogi where they are spending the night at Landy Noel's guesthouse.

According to Pat, everyone is doing just great. Today was another wet slippery walk from Brigade Hill down to Efogi but everyone managed ok.

Trekkers have now reached the village of Ioribaiwa where they will spend the night. Tomorrow they will have a tough day as they head up Maguli Range on the way to Naoro Village before heading down to Agulogo to spend the night.
