On the morning of the 13th, trekkers were driven out to Bomana War Cemetery on the way to the drop off point at Owers' Corner. The road up to Sogeri is pretty bad at the moment but the dirt one from Sogeri to Owers' Corner yesterday was very slippery and wet due to all the rain during the week so it was a pretty slow drive. The two hired buses…[Read more]

Trekkers have now reached Uberi/Goodwater campsite where they will spend the night. Tomorrow they will walk off the track and under the archway at Owers' Corner.

Trekkers are on the home straight now. Last night they were at Agulogo and tonight am not sure where they pulled up, either Ofi Creek or Ioribaiwa. Today would have been a tough day as they walked up to the village of Naoro and then onto Maguli Range before making their way to Ioribaiwa Ridge and most likely finished for the day at Ioribaiwa.Naoro.jpg

Earlier this morning they woke up at Isurava and attended the Anzac Day Dawn Service there. Based on feedback it was both emotional and powerful as all trekking companies stood as one. Following…[Read more]
