A group of 8 trekkers had an early start this morning when they flew over to Popondetta to commence their trek. They were met and driven up to Kokoda arriving around midday. Congratulations are in order as this trek walked off the track earlier today at Owers' Corner. Trekkers left Efogi this morning to head up Brigade Hill. They have now gone through Menari Village and are heading to Naoro for the night. Everyone continues to do well. One phone call this morning and a text received this afternoon. The first one was when they reached Eora Creek after crossing the cane bridge below. The second by was way of a text – quote: 'We had a good walk today to Dump 1 from Alola arriving here at 2pm. We passed the time bathing in the river and we are all now resting. Trekkers spent last night at Ioribaiwa Village and today are making their way down to Goldie River where they will overnight and walk off the track tomorrow morning.

Trekkers continue to make their way along the track and around 3:30pm yesterday found themselves at Agulogo where they spent the night. Trekkers have now reached the half way point of Efogi where they are spending the night. Tomorrow they will walk up to Brigade Hill before heading to Agulogo for the night. After arriving in Popondetta, girls were met and driven up to Kokoda by 4WDrive before commencing their walk around 12:30pm.

Later in the day they pulled up at Hoi for the night. Just like the guys below, can only assume they cooled off in the creek near the campsite area.Hoi 640 size.jpg

This trek have pulled up for the day at Ofi Creek. They have all decided to walk off tomorrow instead of the 18th as per the original plan. They should be at Owers' Corner around 1-2pm tomorrow. Picture them tonight – their last night around the campfire.Trek 781a.jpg

Trekkers were on the go today when I received a phone call from 1900/Myola Junction. This group made a decision not to walk through Kagi but to go via Naduri to Efogi.
