On this year's Anzac treks we had a few firsts!
- Our very first aboriginal indigenous australian – Roderick Simpson. At the end of the Anzac Day service at Bomana War Cemetery Roderick was asked by the family of Private Frank Archibald to attend the service they were holding at his gravesite.

For us, it was a very hectic time with trekkers coming and going, monitoring all the treks on the go and Anzac Day. With various pick-ups around town, its alway a 3am wake up call to make sure its all co-ordinated. Trek 872 reached Kokoda around 2pm on the 1st May and after a few beers and pizza's last night at Orohaven, today are relaxing, cleaning their gear and preparing to move out after lunch tomorrow when they will catch the afternoon flight back into Port Moresby.IMGP1754__640x480_.JPGIMGP1763__640x480_.JPG

Trek 827: Trekkers walked off the track yesterday around 2pm. They are presently relaxing at Orohaven Kokoda Retreat. Instead of the normal overnight, these trekkers requested an extra day in Kokoda. Trek 841: Trekkers have reached Sanananda where they are spending two nights. Today they are exploring around the Buna area before heading back to Sanananda. Trekkers are now on their way to Popondetta. The original vehicle we hired had a mechanical problem and cannot be used so we were forced into finding another car. Trek 841: Trekkers are now relaxing at Orohaven Kokoda Retreat. Its been raining quite heavily and vehicles have been stuck today on the Popondetta side of the rivers so at this stage have no idea when the group will move down to the coast.
