Paul Esiko called up around 4:30pm this afternoon to say they were at Maguli Range and were on their way to Naoro. The whole group are doing just fine. Paul's wife was yelling out in the background and it sounded like they were having fun out there on what should be their toughest day!IMGP1841__50____640x480_.JPG

Phoned Kokoda later in the day and it seems they were all celebrating with a few beers their successful trek. Tomorrow will be a relaxing day for Julia and a walk up to the Kokoda Station is planned to look inside the War Museum there as it was skipped today. On Monday Julia will be flown back into Port Moresby.

It was soon time for photographs under the archway at Owers' Corner before they moved off. I do not know who was more excited, Lila or Wendy as you could not wipe the smiles of either of their faces:IMG_0009__800x600_.jpgIMG_0010__800x600_.jpgIMG_0011__800x600_.jpgIMG_0012__800x600_.jpgIMG_0013__800x600_.jpg

Hi, thanks for your post. If you wish to protect your boots especially in the muddy areas its still wise to wear them. My son Shane walks quite a few times each year and his preferred choice is the ones you pick up at a Bunnings store. They are short ones and it over the top of your boots.Obviously I have met lots of trekkers and would have to…[Read more]
