Trekkers have reached Ofi Creek where they have settled in for the night. Tomorrow will be a tough day as they climb up Maguli Range and head for Agulogo.

Everyone is ok and doing well according to Shane.Climbing up from Ofi Creek.jpg

The plan for today was to stop for the night at Deniki. Unless they got there quite early and pressed on to Hoi, am assuming they are now spending the night at Deniki.

According to Arnold, they are all doing well and will walk off the track tomorrow morning.Isurava (7) 640×480.JPGDeniki.jpg

Last but not least Jason Peters got to meet his personal porter, Dylen Aire. This came as a surprise for me as when my camera came back from Owers' Corner I wondered who the new guy was as I was expecting to see Cyprian Aire.

When I questioned who the guy was, I was informed he was the younger brother of Cyprian. Seems Cyprian could not come so…[Read more]

Next off the ranks is Tanya McRae who met her personal porter Ivan Semie. Everytime Ivan walks, trekker comment on how good he is, not just his own trekker but the group as a whole. So unless this trek is different to others, Tanya has one very special guy to carry her backpack who will be there for her every inch of the way. He has a very big…[Read more]

At Owers' Corner trekkers got to meet their personal porters who will carry their backpacks and help them wherever they can. Shane was joking with Ramsy last night that just like the Melbourne Cup, his trekkers backpack was the heaviest so she must be going to try and slow him down.

For those of you who do not know, we hold an annual Kokoda…[Read more]

On the way out to Owers' Corner, trekkers stopped off at McDonald's Corner. I was not with them but judging by the photographs, they got a lesson in rubber farming:IMGP3305 640×480.JPGIMGP3302 640×480.JPG

Trekkers have now reached 1900/Myola Junction. Some of the trekkers went and looked at the plane today whilst others prepared the campsite area. Everyone continues to do well and now looking forward to the finish in Kokoda.Walking towards Myola Junction 2.jpgTaken whilst walking to Myola Junction.jpg

Trekkers reached Efogi earlier today and will no doubt enjoy the mattresses tonight, their first on the track since they left Sogeri Lodge. Today represents the half way point so they have been doing really well so far. Picture them tomorrow as they climb the hill below.Climbing from Efogi to Lanununu Village.jpg

As planned trekkers have reached Menari Village where they are spending the night. One of our staff by the name of Jerry phoned me around 7pm tonight to inform me all was good with the group and that they had a good day.

Tomorrow they have another short day as they are planning to walk down to Efogi Village.Menari2.JPGMenari Creek (2).JPG

Congratulations to Richard as this morning around 8:30 he walked off the track into Kokoda. He is now at Orohaven Kokoda Retreat. Well done Richard from all of us here at Kokoda Trekking.

Having trekked twice now with Kokoda Trekking Limited and observed other groups on the Track on both ocassions, I have no doubt whatsoever that I would not have enjoyed it any better, or experienced anything better if I had trekked with another Company. I too also tried to contact another group in 2004 and received no answer at all, but Gail…[Read more]

Just received a message at 4:20pm to say the group have reached Hoi where they are spending the night so they have pushed on further than they stated earlier this morning. Tomorrow they should reach Kokoda around 9am.

Apparently Richard is looking forward to walking off and it was his idea to move further down and not stop at Deniki.Deniki (2)…[Read more]
