Trekkers have now reached Agulogo where they are camped for the night. Shane phoned up today from Maguli Range and again at Agulogo to say they were all doing ok and that tomorrow the plan is to reach Efogi the half way point.Trek 744 Naoro to Agulogo – Swamp 640×480.JPG

This trek has now reached Naoro Village where they are spending the night. I heard from Arnold today from Maguli Range saying they were all going ok. The plan was to head on down to Agulogo but he decided to pull them up at Naoro where they would rest for the night before heading off to the half way point of Efogi tomorrow. Nauro Village 2.jpg

Shane phoned in around 6pm to say they had all reached the village and that everyone was ok and doing well. Mark in Arnold's trek requested a personal porter who has now caught up with the group. In 2012, the guy seen here in the middle of his two trekkers, Charelle Byrne and Masa Music, won our Kokoda Challenge Race in a little over 18 hours from Kokoda to Owers' Corner. His name is Ramsy Idau and he is not only fit but remains one of our best personal porters who walks often.IMGP3321 1024×768.JPG

Father & son combination of Darren and Nathaniel Willoughby. Last night Darren requested a personal porter so a guy by the name of Jackie from Sairope Village near Kokoda walked in from Owers' Corner to catch up with the group and carry his backpack.IMGP3320 1024×768.JPG

Bye bye trek 877. This trek is led by Arnold Jinga who said today he is on his 103rd trek across the Kokoda Track.

Heard later today that the group reached Goodwater campsite and that all were ok. One of the guys apparently vomited a few times but he put it down to few too many yesterday when at Loloata Dive Resort.IMGP3315 1024×768.JPGIMGP3317…[Read more]

It was soon time to bid our farewell but not before a minutes silence for Wallace Lemeki who passed away on the 3rd February 2013. Wallace was such a bit part of our trekking family and is sadly missed by everyone. He always led out an Anzac trek but sadly not this year! RIP Wallace.IMGP3318 1024×768.JPG

    Hi Gail

Whilst this is a slightly dated topic, never-the-less it is a very real topic and my thoughts go to the family, friends and trek porters at that time back in 2006.

During our last trek last year, my Daughter and Fiancee stopped at a couple of these Plaques and offered our prayers in each case.

I have just finished a talk today to the…[Read more]

    Hi all

Just one comment I would like to make on preserving your feet & toe nails, adding to the advice already given.

That advice would be to ensure you cut your toenails a week for you begin and then everyday apply vaseline to your feet, especially between the toes and around the heels. I wore 2 pairs of socks for cushioning and my feet at the…[Read more]
