As I type this, trekkers are making their way to the half way point of Efogi. Today they will have a tough climb on their way to the top of Brigade Hill. Trekkers all continue to do well.Trek 744 Brigade H (2).JPG

Thanks very much for this, Shane!

I really appreciate you taking the time to provide so much detail. Between the website and the forum there is so much detail and a range of different experiences that it can be confusing.

I had read about Sogeri lodge but it hadn't occurred to me that it is an alternative to staying in Port Moresby. Looks like a…[Read more]

    Hi again Badger,

Just looked at what is included in the package with kokoda trekking and it says that you are met at the airport – transfered to Bomana to visit the cementry – and then taken to Sogeri lodge for your 1st nights accomodation. Sogeri lodge is on the way to Owers Corner so you would not be staying Moresby at all. Of course you can…[Read more]

    Hi Badger

Since no one has replied so far I will reply with my own experience with another trekking company

I trekked in 2009 with a group organised by the Adelaide Crows AFL club

Our trip was organised by flight centre and we trekked with another company which I wont mention here

But from following this forum since my trek I believe Kokoda…[Read more]

Ramsy our Kokoda Challenge Champion left Efogi this morning to head back to Owers' Corner in time for the trek heading off from there tomorrow. Hi Gail or someone else from Kokoda Trekking,

Could I trouble you please to review and respond to my question about security in Port Moresby?

I posted it in the forum and also sent an e-mail to you over a week ago. 180+ views but no replies. I've tried sending you a PM via this forum but your profile does not accept PMs. This makes it difficult…[Read more]

Heard from the track that they spent last night at Goodwater and today the trek is heading to Agulogo. According to Shane when he phoned in from Maguli Range, all was going along as planned with no worries with the exception of himself as it seems he slipped over and hurt his ankle.Naoro Village.JPG

Congratulations are in order for the two trekkers as they walked off the track early this morning and are now enjoying some R & R at Loloata Dive Resort.

Trekkers reached Goldie River this afternoon which is where they will spend the night. Tomorrow morning around 7am they will walk off the track and no doubt be quite proud of themselves as they pause under the archway and reflect on the past few days and what happened during the war.

Picture them tomorrow as they make their way up the last hill…[Read more]
