Tom and fellow trekkers are doing really well. When they arrived in Menari they were greeted by village people with flowers and goodwill to see someone like Tom walking the track.

Last night this trek had reached the half way point of Efogi. Today they are at Kagi Village and the same thing has happened. Everywhere Tom goes the locals are…[Read more]

Trekkers have now reached Naoro Village where they will spend the night. Tom continues to shine and it seems is coping with walking uphill more than the descents.

Arnold phoned around 4pm and said they were waiting for top of Maguli Range. As he was talking he sounded excited as him and Tim could see Tom coming in the distance.

    Well done Tom,…[Read more]

Trekkers have now reached Ofi Creek where they are camped for the night. Ernst said everyone continues to do well and they are quite confident that Tom will reach Kokoda.

Apparently he prefers the up's rather than the descents, so tomorrow should be his day as they climb up Maguli Range and head to Naoro.

As they are heading to Naoro, their…[Read more]

This trek is a very special trek as Tom had a stroke and will find it a pretty tough walk. Please take the time to view his facebook page. I have copy pasted a little bit of it here:

How’s this for Motivation & Inspiration! Tom suffered from a stoke at the age of 12 and was diagnosed with having Arteriovenous Malformation. Tom has given himself…[Read more]

Last night was spent at Templeton's Crossing II. Today they have stopped at Isurava Village for the night. Earlier today they walked across the cane bridge at Eroro Creek; climbed up to Alola Village, then on to Isurava Memorial.

A decision was made by their guide Arnold to push on to Isurava Village. All trekkers and porters are doing just…[Read more]

Our guide was exact, at 1:53pm today our group arrived at Kagi Village. Everyone continues to do well. The plan tomorrow is to head to Templeton's Crossing II. Arnold reports nil injuries to porters and trekkers so even better news.Kagi Village – trek 925.jpgIMG_0077 1280×768.JPG

Great memories of our previous Trek, starting off at Owers in the rain! all the way through to Menari and the walk down the strip before heading to the right and the climb up the ridge to look back over Menari Village.

    Hi Waza,

I trekked Kokoda with my 19 year old son last month. Had a fantastic time, trekking from Owers' to Kokoda with a local PNG guide. The trip went extremely well, I couldn't have been happier with it. I didn't end-up choosing KTL, although I'm sure they would do a wonderful job. We passed a large KTL group camped at Dump 66 and I think…[Read more]

Just wondering how the Treks went for those half a dozen people who trekked over the last year or so. This Forum is an excellent place to share your experiences with future trekkers.

    Hi Gary & Tony

How were your trips last year? All good I hope and if you trekked with KTL, then I'm sure your experience with Gail and her Company would have been excellent. I have trekked twice with Gail and Gail saw us off at the Airport to fly to Kokoda and met us at Owers Corner when we returned 0n our 1st trip (although we had to travel in…[Read more]
