Tonkdogger you will be so thirsty you wont care, but the more you use the pack the better or flush the pack the though with salt water.

Hi Fluppy,Lots of fun with tents and packs. What sort of tent have you got?.Most of the time up there you can get away with an extra garbage bag or go to the vets and get a large body bag fopr about $2. They are extra thick and strong. Hi Fluppy,Been out in the hills again. I was thinking about your inquiry while I was away and one of the other answers confirms my thoughts. Don't touch a travel pack for this type of trek. Update 16th October: Trekkers reached Isurava Village around 2:45 this afternoon according to Davidson their guide. I agree with all the posts here, camelback are a essential item on the Kokoda, in fact for most big hikes.
