The first village they would have come to would have been Kovelo followed by Deneki before a tough climb up to Isurava.Photographs:1. The track leading out from Kokoda Hospital area towards Kovelo2. All trekkers seem to enjoy their experience. Gary mentioned he may come back again with his wife next time. Andrew was lucky and his passport came good on Monday so he was able to return to Australia along with other trekkers. Rumour has it he will never trek again as he gave away his camping gear!On a more serious note, please accept our…[Read more]

Well Ange, if Gary were one of the two, you can bet who the other was! Whatever precipitated it and whoever the two were, hopefully it all comes back together for a great completion of a once-in-a-lifetime experience. Hmm. Looking at those huts I know I stayed at worse accomodations while vacationing on the Gold Coast. Never do THAT again. Hmph.…[Read more]

Well if it is Gary at least that means he is not injured! I did tell him that sleeping without a mat would be uncomfortable… but i didn't realise it would be so bad that he would need to walk faster just to get that soft and comfy bed a night sooner. Or maybe he just couldn't stand that Mr Buka did it in 16 hours….Anyway I hope wherever they…[Read more]
