This trek is now at Templeton's Crossing for the night. According to Pat, everyone is doing well and looking forward to finishing their walk. A small bit of rain but nothing to bother them. They are still making good time as they move along the track. Tomorrow their destination is Isurava Village but not before they walk through Isurava Memorial…[Read more]

This trek is now at Kovelo Village and will leave there around 7am tomorrow morning. The boys will be preparing their last meal on the track about now. I just spoke to Pat and he said they just walked into Kagi around 3pm this afternoon and that this is the fastest group he has ever walked with so each day they have lots of time to relax and prepare themselves for the next day. Rose-Maree has been the only one that did it hard for a few days but she is ok now and powering along. Tomorrow they…[Read more]

Pat sent a message earlier today to stating they were on the go and heading to either Agulogo or Menari for the night. Said everyone was travelling really well so thought at that stage they would be pushing on to Menari.25.jpg

Last night found them at Templeton's Crossing so are presently ahead of schedule. According to Kingsley, the boys are setting a fast pace and the women must be fine to be keeping up with them.

Past the half way point now and heading for home, being Kokoda.

This afternoon I spoke with Pam and Margaret. They sounded so happy!19.jpg18.jpg

The first night on the track was spent at Ua'Ule Creek. The next morning they walked through Ioribaiwa Village before heading down to Oki Creek for the night. Perhaps they got to relax on a log like a previous trekker.48.jpg40.jpg

Congratulation to trekkers who walked off the track today in Kokoda, 1 day ahead of schedule. Well done everyone! Panic stations however as phone calls started at 9pm last night and many text messages and calls today. Seems the rainfall caused a landslide at Alola/Isurava Memorial area as well as washing out the road as the water raged down Kokoda…[Read more]

Heard from Cyprian this afternoon that they are now at Ioribaiwa Village and perhaps like these trekkers on a previous trek they may have been relaxing just like them and thinking each day they are getting closer to the finish line of Owers' Corner.
