Trekkers have reach Alola, and will overnight at the Isurava Battlefield tonight. They will walk out to Kokoda tomorrow around lunch time.

How heavy are they? From the look of the one I googled they have a mattress and are made of canvas. Dont forget someone has to carry the thing.

Trekkers spent last night at Naduri Village and today have reached Templeton's Crossing II. All continue to do well according to Shane when he called in late this afternoon.

Trekkers are now at Templeton's Crossing 2. Dudley called up today from the highest point of Mt Bellamy and said all was ok. Later my son Shane who is walking in the same direction confirmed they had reached Templeton's.

Trekkers are now in the village of Naduri where they will spend the night. Both trekkers and porters are doing ok. Tomorrow their aim is to reach Templeton's Crossing.

Just confirming that everyone continues to do well and that they reached Manari where they are spending the night. Tomorrow they will walk in the village of Efogi the half way point.

Shane phoned in this morning saying they were on the move and heading towards Manari where they plan to spend the night.

Heard from Dudley today saying there were going ok and that they would overnight at Naoro Village.

Last night trekkers were at Ua'Ule Creek and today will continue their trek and will spend the night somewhere in the Naoro area. All trekkers are doing just great

The boys would be lost without their beloved bush knives on any trek as seen here walking with sharpest side pointing up! Sometimes I shudder when I see the way they hold on to their knives but many years later and I am yet to hear of anyone hurting themselves as bush knives are such a part of their everyday life here in PNG and even young kids…[Read more]
