Hi Warren,I second your testimonial-it is certainly the experience of a lifetime and KTL were fantastic.I just wanted to ask about your fathers time on the Bulldog track. My grandfather (Private George William Farrar)was with the 22nd employment company, who were stationed there, building the Wau-Bulldog road. I have an article that appeared in…[Read more]

Last night when I phoned around midnight porters were singing and dancing and some trekkers had retired to bed and some others were at the bar area enjoying themselves.P1080132__800x600_.jpgP1080132__800x600_.jpgP1080133__800x600_.jpgP1080134__800x600_.jpgP1080135__800x600_.jpg

I do not know if they ventured down to the creek on our property as we built a traditional win haus (shade house) so trekkers could take a dip and stay out of the sun with a few beers should they wish to do so.P1080128__800x600_.jpg

In similar fashion to Trek 765 no doubt they spent the day relaxing around Orohaven Kokoda Retreat. Tomorrow morning they will be up bright and early for the drive down to Popondetta to catch their flight back into Port Moresby:P1080125__800x600_.jpg

They would have then walked out into the Kokoda Station and finished under the archway put there by the Kokoda Memorial Foundation, Eric Winn and his team of volunteers: No doubt group photographs whould have been taken before moving down to Orohaven Kokoda Retreat.I heard from our staff that the two doctors on this trek went and visited patients…[Read more]

At Isurava Memorial they would have had a service similar to the one seen here and flowers would have been laid:P1080084__800x600_.jpgP1080085__800x600_.jpg

Trekkers walked off the track yesterday one day ahead of schedule and the majority partied through the night celebrating their successful trek.On the way down off the track they walked through the wild choko fields. And yes, even our porters need rest!P1080072__800x600_.jpgP1080073__800x600_.jpg

Today trekkers walked past Eora Creek and up to Alola Village and then onto Isurava Battlesite before settling down for the night at Isurava Village. Trekkers have now reached Templeton's Crossing one where they are spending a rather cold night it seems as Wallace compared it to MELBOURNE! They also appear to be one day ahead of their schedule so looks like they fill have two days in Kokoda instead of one.It seems Wallace is having a hard time slowing down the three guys so they must be really…[Read more]

Adam, we are very envious of your adventure and the scenery looks amazing. I hope that you don't lose sight of the significance of this trek and think of the many diggers of a different era walking the same journey but in very different circumstances. Enjoy the experience, take care, and save some energy for Cairns next week!

Wallace called in to say the group have reached Efogi II. Apparently when they got to where we normally stay at Landy Noel's guesthouse, trekkers did not want to stop and asked to continue walking so Efogi II it is.The group have now passed the half way point and tomorrow will start heading for the finish line! The group as a whole are all doing…[Read more]
