Although I walk a lot for work at home, our town is very flat and it was difficult to find suitable training spots to prepare for what had been described to me as 'walking up and down stairs, in sticky mud for up to 10 hours at a time, in…[Read more]

Hello Yvie.My wife and I trekked Kokoda with Gails company and found them to be excellent in every way. The best thing was that the guides and porters made you feel so relaxed and confident which is very important when you are in a jungle 100's of miles from home.

Firstly my apology for not so many updates as Cyprian must have been buggered each day or could not get a signal as the first message I received was from Naoro Village to inform me what time roughly they planned on walking off the track.Last night we caught up with them at Owers' Corner around 6pm and although looking tired they were all ok and…[Read more]

Having trekked with Kokoda Trekking (who own this forum) I can highly recommend them as an operator. The guides and porters are excellent and very professional without being "touristy", for lack of a better word. You get a fascinating insight into PNG and it's culture as well as into the history of Kokoda, particularly the battles that took…[Read more]

Brendan Buka has once again won our KOKODA CHALLENGE RACE. He did not break his record though as he was sick in the later stages of the race vomiting and suffering from diarrhea. Will post his time once I hear it from Kokoda.
