I left Port Moresby this morning around 6:30am to drive up to Owers' Corner to welcome back our two trekkers and staff.As I drove down to the archway I could see both trekkers standing under the archway having their photographs taken. Met up again today with some trekkers at Sogeri Lodge where they were relaxing before heading down to Port Moresby to catch their flight back home.P1060632__640x480_.JPG

Around 9am this morning trekkers arrived back in from Kokoda where I met up with them. Trekkers walked off the track around midday today under the archway and into the Kokoda Station ending up at Orohaven Kokoda Retreat where they relaxed during the afternoon. No doubt as I type this, trekkers must be getting excited as they walk towards the Kokoda archway, the finish line!

Trekkers are on the move heading for the finish line according to Eric who phoned in today. At the time he was not too sure where they would stop the night but said the plan was to come out on the 12th not the 11th as previously planned.

Trekkers are now back in Port Moresby waiting for their flight to Australia.

Trekkers are spending tonight at Nauro Village but will need to slow themselves down if they want to come off the track on the 12th October as its not too far now and they will have completed their trek. Naoro_Village__640x480___640x480_.jpg

I heard from Wallace tonight saying they had reached Isurava Village and tomorrow willl walk off the track into Kokoda around midday.According to Wallace everyone is well and looking forward to finishing in Kokoda tomorrow. Congratulations are in order for trek 740 when they walked off the track today around 1pm. At the moment they are tucking into pizza's at Orohaven Kokoda Retreat before getting up early for their drive down to Popondetta to catch their flight back to Port Moresby. I did the trek in April from Owers over 6 days carrying my pack. I wore Vibram KSO Trek Sports the whole way with injinji socks. Tonight this group is at 1900/Myola Junction. Apparently one of the Matt's did it tough today but is ok and pulled through. All other trekkers are did really well but all were tired it seems and did not want to do a side trek up to Myola lookout. Tomorrow they will head down to Eora Creek.
