MemberTrek 447 commenced around 7am this morning when we collected trekkers from the Gateway Hotel. The trek was initiated by Jane Boswell, Tracy Tobin and Judith Simpson to walk and at the same time raise money to purchase a tank and various other items for the Kokoda Primary School. Each trekker had to raise the sum of $500.00. Before they left we took them shopping and they purchased several sports items for the school such as cricket bat set; volleyball net and balls; touch footy ball and so on.
They would like to thank the following people for their contribution: Quote message received from Jane Boswell on the day before their arrival in PNG.
Trek 447 would like to thank all of the people who are involved with raising this money. And a big 'thank you' to Gail from Kokoda Trekking for the help in organizing this mamoth job, she has also donated her plumber to install the tanks & charter over the equipment to the school.

MemberUpdate 23rd August: Sorry no updates yesterday as our concern was for Renee who took sick on the track at Uberi and was airlifted off along with Tracey Williams in the early hours of the 22nd August. We are happy to report that Renee is now ok and is safe and sound back home in Australia.
Renee was driven out to Owers' Corner and was walked in by our staff to catch up with the others in this group. Mateship was played out yesterday when the whole group decided to stay put at Uberi to give Tracey a chance to rejoin them after she was sure Renee was ok.
I am led to believe that they are now at Ioribaiwa Village where they will spend the night.

MemberUpdate 28th August:Sorry for no updates but the track radio's have been down and we have been waiting on them to contact us by sat phone.
Today Lancelot Yauga phoned from Kokoda to say that the rest of the group were spending the night at Isurava and that he had walked down to set things up for when they walk off the track tomorrow.
Yes, you read right, they will walk out into Kokoda tomorrow sometime.

Jane has been thinking about the 'tigers' (hope that is correct as the radios are still down and it was hard to understand by sat phone).
