    Hi

Its less than 2 weeks till I leave to do Kokoda … and I know I am leaving my run a bit late but I was wondering what peoples thoughts are on the necessity of walking poles for Kokoda?

Are they really necessary or can the walk be done without them .. needless to say I'm yet to purchase any…

    Thanks in anticipation

As a regular bushwalker, I find I need a pole for steep downhills to save my knees. However, if you don't take one with you the boys will cut you one from the bush if required.
