MemberOur fast trekkers headed out today in our chartered flight with Hevi Lift arriving in Kokoda around 10:30am. They included two return trekkers Cullen Habel and Richard Johnston who this time round have come to take on a faster trek – both carrying their own packs.
Joining them on this trek is Susan Adcock and her partner Sean Ginnivan. Penelope Strain and her partner Shane Coote.

MemberLater in the morning they would have walked up through the Kokoda Station monument area before heading off on the Kokoda Trail toward Deneki. No doubt walking up the hill to the station they would have been amazed to see a house surrounded by water caused by the river changing course during Cyclone Guba in November last year.

MemberUpdate 12th May: We heard from our guide Tony today that they pushed past Deneki yesterday and spent the night at Isurava Village. This morning around 8am they were at Isurava Monument area and were planning to push on ahead to Templeton's where they would spend the night.

MemberUpdate 14th May: Trekkers reached the half way point of Efogi on Tuesday night and by today they should pass Naoro down to Ofi Creek or thereabouts. We have not heard from them today as yet but this should be the area as they will come off the track on the 16th. The last time Tony their guide radioed in, he was more than happy with their progress and all trekkers were doing just fine.
