Trek 272 first kicked off by Bob Robertson who walked with part of this group Anzac 2004. He sent the word around and soon got others to join him for another walk on the Kokoda Track. He also asked his business partner here in Port Moresby to get together for him an esky of beer and soft drinks for us to take to Ower's Corner to celebrate their trek – Guide Ernst Jinga.

    Trekkers included:

    1. Ruth Laura Bishop and Barry Bishop; Michael Sztachanski (Barbie); Dan Towler (carrying with him a laptop for his porter of 2004, now wont he be excited!!!); his mate Shane Irwin; Ken Toombs who was already cracking jokes at the airport and is a fun guy to be around; Michael Villante, David and Matthew Currie, Anthony Loveridge, David Bowden, Jessica Chamberlin, Michelle Morgan, Bob Robertson and Alissa Crossley.

Some trekkers were forced to stay back due to weight restrictions for the third flight which enabled me to take them for a drive around Port Moresby.

As part of their drive I took them to our headquarters at Gordon's so they could see for themselves how some of us live in Port Moresby. They also saw first hand the kind of hills they would be climbing come tomorrow.

Our guide Ernst radioed in earlier this afternoon saying all trekkers have arrived ok at Isurava Village where they will spend the night.

The following morning they would have walked into the Isurava Battlesite area – refer photograph below:

Today as our trekkers work their way up to Menari they will run into two of our other treks walking in the opposite direction. I am sure once the trekkers and boys all meet up they will share some high five's and stories on what is ahead in each direction.

One group should catch up at Menari River and the other possibly at Brigade Hill. Word from the track is that it is slippery and wet today so trekkers will be taking extra care and our porters will be keeping a close eye on them.

We met up with our trekkers again this morning when we drove them out to Bomana for the Anzac Day Service. All our KTL boys in Port Moresby attended the service and were just so thrilled that we offered to drive them out.
