Trek 182: Trekkers enjoyed Saturday morning at Ela Beach watching the events of the Hiri Moale Festival. They were treated like VIP guests and had the chance of up close photographs of activities which they all seem to have enjoyed:

Update Monday: Our guide Cyprian radioed in to say that trekkers are doing fine and were at Nauro heading for Menari where they will spend the night. One trekker Beverley Ellis turned back from Uberi and flew back to Australia yesterday.

Other remaining trekkers are made up as follows:

Kristen Tinkler; Paul Jones; David Johnson; John Pitt; Simon Pitt; Adam Pitt ; Liam Walsh

Update Wednesday 20th Sept: Trekkers reached the half way point yesterday at the village of Efogi where they spent the night. Our guide said they are all doing just great. They should now be heading to 1900 where they will spend tonight.

Trek 214 – POMIS High School Students: This year a smaller group in size but still just as excited as previous students made up as follows:

David Lucas; Jeremy Eri; William Sarwom; Vele Karo; Clayton Leahy; Nancy Hohoa; Terrance Tanda; Brian Amini; Vavine Mulina; Shalima Kila & Laura Swale

Trekkers flew into Popondetta and travelled by road up to Kokoda They were very lucky as a bridge on the road has since been washed away and if they were heading out today they would be stuck.

They arrived at Rusty's Kokoda Family Block and headed off the following day. On Independence Day they were all as planned at Isurava Battlesite for the 3rd year in a row as its now part of their tradition with the school flag and the PNG flag.

Update Monday: Our guide Davidson called on the radio this morning to say they were at Naduri and were heading to Efogi where they would spend the night.

Update Wednesday: Trekkers are all ok and are now heading towards Ofi Creek where they will be spending the night. All is on target for their pickup at Ower's Corner this coming Friday.

Update Friday: Trekkers have been picked up and should arrive in Port Moresby between midday and 1pm today.

Trek 225: Teachers and students enjoyed the festivies held at Ela Beach for the Hiri Moale Festival and the following morning 17th September headed out to Kokoda by chartered aircraft.

This trek is being led by John Derrick Eroro a veteran of walking the track with 400 + treks to his credit. It is not uncommon to hear from John on a day to day basis unless he has something to report but as the saying goes, no news is good news so assume he has all of them under control and that their trek is in full swing.

Trekkers include : Michael Barrand; Robyn Barrand; Mike Ebeling; Catroina Ebeling; Marisa Greenway; Jim (DJ) Mason; Lynette (LJ) Mason; Denise Hulonce; Adrian Irwin; Sandra Culph; Alexander Stoddart; Allister Craig and James Hulonce
