MemberBoth groups overnighted at Rusty's Family block in Kokoda before heading out on the Kokoda Trail.
The Outbound Family group got away on the first flight to Kokoda and were followed throughout the day by the two extra flights put on to cater for the Port Moresby International High School students and their invited guests.
All trekkers arrived ok in Kokoda but the POMIS trek food did not arrive and was flown in the following morning by Airlines of PNG.
As a result the Outbound group got away bright and early and the POMIS group had to wait an extra couple of hours for the food. Trekkers all saw me consign the food so were able to inform their guide Davidson that they were sure something would be done.
Both lots of trekkers then made it up to Isurava on Thursday night.
Since then they seem to have joined up as one big large group. I will have to wait until they come back in to quiz them further but suspect with students in both groups that they have made friends.

MemberJohn Derick Eroro – a veteran of 400+ treks is the guide for the Outbound group and is overall responsible for both groups.
Davidson, his brother is leading the POMIS high school group as their choice as he was the guide last year. We have also tried to hire some of the same porters at David Lucas's request.
Was chatting to Davidson by two way radio today and he informed me that John's group were already in Efogi and they were hot on their heels.
Both groups planned to stay the night in one campsite at Efogi. He said everyone was doing just great which is great news.
Jessie will be back tomorrow following the long weekend and will post updates.

MemberUpdate: POMIS students all made it back without any problems and celebrated in style last night at the Ela Beach Hotel. They were all handed certificates of achievement and t/shirts.
Outward Bound Family Group and friends arrived back later in the day and had their celebration at the Royal Papua New Guinea Yacht Club also with their guide and porters. The boys showed their gratitude by singing a couple of songs to their trekkers and enjoying the catch of the day and chips.
John Derick Eroro was excited to receive from Tim Medhurst his watch as a keepsake of their successful trek.
Sincere thanks to both groups of trekkers for not giving us too many headaches as they made their way from Kokoda to Ower's Corner.
