hi, i am doing an assignment on the kokoda trail and i was just wondering if anyone could answer this question:

    – When was the Kokoda trail built?

(even though i dont think it was actually built, but actually when the soildiers went through the place they made the trail themselves)

    Any help would be great appreciated /smile.gif” style=”vertical-align:middle” emoid=”:)” border=”0″ alt=”smile.gif”/>

Hi there, you would need to purchase a book called Kokoda, the History of, by Stuart Hawthorne to obtain the exact details.

However, refer attached photograph, the trail was used way back in the early 1900's by two mail men who used to walk armed and then interchange with another two who used to carry the mail down into the Oro Province.

Prett sure it was never 'built', just made with feet by the natives over the centuries.
