EXPERIENCE
Gary commenced walking with Kokoda Trekking in 2006 as a food porter. He is has worked his way up to become one of our expereinced guides. When not employed as a guide, Gary accompanies trekkers as a personal porter.
Background: Gary was born in 1976. Having completed his grade 10 in 2010, he went to a Tafe College in Port Moresby and studied ‘Certificate II in Business’. In 2011 he studied Financial Accounts – Clerical.
Other: Gary was invited by the Hanson family to visit them in Australia. Helen Hanson has trekked with us twice. The second time she brought back her family with the exception of one daughter Lauren. Recently Lauren and her brother came back for their second trek. Gary was their guide. Gary has attended many first aid courses and whilst in Australia with them, he attended a first aid course in 2013. In 2017 he attended another first aid course in Kokoda along with other staff.
