    G'day all
recently discovered the forum and have been enjoying reading the stories.
I'm 48 and had the honour of walking the track in july 2007 from kokoda to owers corner via naduli.
i had an absolutely dream trek with no rain at all until day 8 when we finally topped imita ridge and soon discovered how difficult it is in muddy conditions.
i feel a bit guilty because a mate went in april 2007 and had a typically wet walk. i must admit
some of the "horror stories" he told me certainly made me train harder before i left. but
overall i was very happy with my preperation, no blisters and although it was every bit as tough as i expected, i was able to dig deep and find in myself what it takes to complete the journey of my life time.
I still can't stop thinking about and talking about the track. every body in my life can not understand that once you have been there you are changed for ever (am i the only one who feels this way)
i am hopeing to go back again maybe in 2010 for anzac day at isurava memorial
    how good does that sound!!
any way am pleased to have found the forum and hope to have some positve input
    if i can
    cheers mikmac
