Hi Everyone

A belated Happy New Year to you all and it?s a big ?welcome back? to Gail Thomas, Russell Eroro and Eric Uwea who came back after an awesome trip to Goldcoast, Queensland, Australia. (A story is on its way.)

It?s only the beginning of the new-year and also that time of the year where we get a lot of rain and no trekkers on the track. (Ha, ha) let the guys in Kokoda rest their muscles before taking our first group of trekkers for 2005. And, speaking of which, we won?t be getting trekkers until April 10th.

More than 200 hundred people mostly trekkers are coming for the Anzac trek this year. Among them will be Australia?s very high profile people – mostly sports celebrities.

Preparations for this trek, is well underway. So looks like 2005 is going to be a big year for everyone involved in trekking business here in Papua New Guinea. More and more trekkers are coming in each year and we are confident this year will be bigger and better.

The people of the trail and especially the porters and guides are getting into gardening at this time when no trekkers are coming in. They too are preparing for another year of trekking the infamous kokoda trail.

Gail Thomas and Russell Eroro seen here on a chair lift at Dreamworld. This photograph was taken by Jimmy who was in the chair lift directly in front with Eric Uwea. Yes, we have the same brand of boots – Scarpa's. At the time I bought my own, Russell's shoes had split so I purchased two pairs of boots, 1 each!.
