Boss Meri
MemberOn the 19th August Caitlin Armstrong flew into Port Moresby from Tufi and was met by our staff member Raymond Jessie in readiness for her trek. The initial plan was to commence her trek on the 21st August. As our porters were flying in from Kokoda on the 20th August we put the question to her, did she want two nights in Port Moresby or would she like to start her trek yesterday and head straight to the track.
Caitlin chose to meet with the boys from the flight and head straight out to Owers' Corner. As a result this is what happened and they commenced their walk down to Goldie River around 4:30pm yesterday. Tonight they are at Ioribaiwa Village for the night. Ramsy Idau is the guide for this trek.

MemberCharlie Pehara has been waiting patiently at our base in Port Moresby for this trek and is walking as a food porter.
Last night they spent the night at Goldie River having commenced their trek around 4:30pm. Tonight they find themselves at Ioribaiwa Village and tomorrow will head to Agulogo for the night. According to Ramsy who called tonight on the sat phone, Caitlin is doing just great. He said its a very dry track at the moment.

MemberSpoke to both Ramsy and Caitlin yesterday at Agulogo and the trek is going along really well. Caitlin said its tough but stated the fact that she is enjoying herself. Conditions remain the same 'dry' which is great if you do not like to slip and slide but not so good for today as they make there way up Brigade Hill and down to Efogi. They hope by then that its cooled down enough to continue up to Kagi as they would like to get that out of the way this afternoon instead of the next day due to the heat and no canopy of shade for protection. Keep going team, you are doing just great.

MemberThe trek spent the night at Kagi and today are hoping to reach Eora Creek. Caitlin and our boys are still doing well and they are confident they will walk off the trek on the 26th instead of the 27th as previously planned. Think of them today as they make their way along the track.

MemberThis trek as planned have now reached Eora Creek. Tomorrow they will either stop at Deniki or Hoi for the night. Spoke to Cyprian Haera Caitlin's personal porter and he said she is enjoying herself and looking forward to reaching Kokoda.
Picture her tomorrow walking across this cane bridge at Eora Creek.

MemberCongratulations to Caitlin as she is now in Kokoda having walked under the archway around 8:30am this morning. Well done Caitlin from all of us here at Kokoda Trekking. As I type, our hired 4WDrive has just left Orohaven to head down to Pija for a relaxing day. Tomorrow Caitlin will be flown back to Port Moresby.
