MemberAfter walking around Bomana War Cemetery, trekkers were driven by Raymond up snake road to Sogeri and then on the gravel road out to Owers' Cnr. On the way they stopped at McDonald's Corner which provided another opportunity for a photograph:

MemberGoodbye trek 973 – so good to hear you all made your destination for yesterday, being Ua'Ule Creek. The guide for this trek is Trevor Jinga from Kokoda:

MemberAround 3pm this afternoon this trek walked into Naoro Village. All trekkers and our KTL boys continue to do well. Tonight they share the campsite with another group walking in the opposite direction. Today the track was slippery – especially the downhills! Tomorrow the plan is to give them a shorter day and head to Menari for the night.

MemberTrekkers had a short day today and are now in Menari for the night. Tomorrow will be a tough day as they walk up to Brigade Hill, down to Efogi, followed by a climb up to Kagi. Everyone continues to do well and looking forward to hearing the scores from the rugby tonight. Go Wallabies!

MemberMorning tea saw this group at Brigade Hill. After reaching Efogi, the group then walked up to Kagi arriving around 4:30pm this afternoon. The group received the news earlier today via a text to the sat phone that Australia beat the Springboks which apparently made Lance happy hearing the news. Tomorrow they will continue their trek heading to Templeton's Crossing for the night.

MemberTrekkers moved further down the track and pulled up at Eora Creek for the night. A message from Cheryl and Lance, tell family and friends back home that we are thoroughly enjoying ourselves and doing ok. In the beginning Matthew was out the front, seems Cheryl and Lance have found their mountain legs and its now full steam ahead. Tomorrow they plan on stopping at Deniki. Go team 973, you are almost at the finish line! Think about them tomorrow walking across this cane bridge at Eora Creek.

MemberTrekkers as planned have now reached Deniki where they will spend their last night on the track. Trevor their guide phoned and said they should walk under the archway in Kokoda around 9am tomorrow morning. Apparently they want a relaxing day sitting around; cleaning their gear and no doubt reflecting on their successful trek. Not too far to go now trek 973. Picture them tomorrow as they make their way towards Kokoda and through the archway.

MemberCongratulations are in order as this trek walked off the track today and under the archway. Well done to each of you and our KTL boys for getting you safely to Kokoda. At the moment trekkers are down at one of our bases, Orohaven Kokoda Retreat and will fly back to Port Moresby tomorrow afternoon.
