A new group of trekkers arrived in PNG yesterday and head over to Kokoda this morning. Have just been advised they have their boarding passes and about to head into the boarding lounge area. Making his way down from Kokoda to meet them is Tony Ogonemi who is listed as the guide for this trek.

Trekkers in this group include :

      [*]Craig Francis
      [*]Sally Fuller
      [*]Ian Parker
      [*]Richard Jones
      [*]Peter Shine

Trekkers got off to an early start this morning as they had a 6am flight to catch from Port Moresby to Popondetta. At Girua airport they were met by their guide Tony Ogonemi, taken to the monument area in Popondetta before being driven up to Orohaven our base in Kokoda for lunch. MId afternoon they commenced their walk and are now at Hoi Village for the night

4pm 27/5: Tony has just contacted me to say they are now at Goldie River and will walk through the archway around 9am tomorrow morning. Surprise, surprise, the boys want updates re the State of Origin match tonight. His words – putting my hand up for the maroons! so GO MAROONS. Picture the trekkers as they walk and through the Owers' Corner archway tomorrow.

Update: I sent a text to the sat phone and Tony just sent a text back: Congratulations to the maroons from the Kokoda Trail in PNG.
