MemberA group of 7 walked off from Owers' Corner around 8:30am this morning. Back for a second trek is James Goode & Andrew Bryson. Also on this trek – David Gobbett; Ryan Dunn; Victoria Walker; Steve McConnell and John Hunt.
Andrew Bryson and Ivan Semie are the guides for this trek. Five minutes ago I received a sat phone call from Andrew saying they made good time today and are spending the night at Ua'Ule Creek. He said at the moment its a dry track – so looks like no flooded creeks for this group.
Everyone did well today and are looking forward to reaching Naoro Village tomorrow.

MemberAndrew has been given a 'Hall Pass' to head to PNG and walk this trek. Both Andrew and his wife walked the trek this year in May. He loved it so much that he has put his hand up to become an Australian guide with us. Having been in the Australian Army for over 11 years he felt it was something he could do that he had a passion for and something that fitted his background.
Below a photograph of Andrew and his wife. Also a photograph of Ivan our PNG guide on this trek. Ivan is one of our hardest working porters and mid year he was upgraded to a guide and he is taking this very seriously.

MemberAndrew phoned tonight to inform me they were now at Naoro Village. It seems everyone is doing well with the exception of himself. Andrew said he had a tough day, felt sick all day with flu type symptoms but trying to bounce back in time for their walk tomorrow to Menari Village.

MemberA short day today helped Andrew recover. Apparently he had a sleep and woke up hungry so thats a good sign. The group earlier had arrived at Menari Village. Tomorrow will be a big day as the plan is to reach Kagi Village. Today Vicky was interviewed by a film crew presently on the track who are gathering info from women. No doubt this was a thrill for her and totally unexpected. As for the guys, Andrew mentioned Miss Universe was with the group so out in the bush on the track that would be the last thing on their mind so presume the guys got a thrill as well.

MemberTrekkers have now reached Templeton's Crossing and all continue to do well. Tomorrow they will head to Isurava Village for their last night on the track.
Picture them tomorrow walking across this cane bridge at Eora Creek.
Ivan said they experienced some rain today. Am pretty sure I could hear rain in the background when he was talking so assume its also raining there right now. Up until today they had a dry track.

According to Ivan, they should reach Kokoda around 2pm tomorrow. He said they experienced rain again today which was a complete change from the first few days when the track was so dry.
Well done trekkers keep going, almost at the finish line.
