Two trekkers arrived from Australia who were to commence their trek on the 14th Sept and finish in Kokoda on the 19th. Due to a slightly faster trek than normal, it was decided they head up to Owers' Corner on the afternoon of their arrival to spend the night to give them an earlier start the following day. Trekkers on this trek are a father and son.

      [*]Tomas Heard

The first night they slept at Ua'Ule Creek and last night at Ofi Creek. Tonight they are at Menari so are moving along as planned at a faster pace than the other treks we presently have on the go.

According to reports, the two of them are going really well and not experiencing any problems.

Kingsley phoned in from Kagi where they are spending the night. Seems Kingsley slipped over yesterday and hurt his knee but with medicine is ok. He said his two trekkers, Tim and Tomas Heard are powering along and doing really well. Plan a) tomorrow is Templeton's Crossing and Plan b) is Eora Creek.

Plan b) worked today as the trekkers pulled up for the night at Eora Creek. We also have another trek at Eora Creek tonight so its good to know they are all camped together.

Tim and Tomas are powering along it seems with no problems whatsoever.

Check out below. Pic 1 the old way of crossing Eora Creek. Pic 2 the new way over a cane bridge.

Trekkers have now reached Hoi Village so slightly ahead of where the plan was today so well positioned to walk off the track tomorrow morning.

One of our treks that commenced today in Kokoda said he ran into this group and that everyone was ok and looking forward to finishing their trek tomorrow.

Can only assume they took some time to have a dip in the creek there as per trekkers before them.

Congratulations to Tim and Tomas Heard as they walked off the track today and under the archway at Kokoda. At the moment they are relaxing down at Orohaven whilst waiting to fly back tomorrow to Port Moresby.

Well done guys, an awesome effort and one fit retired father!

Tomas and Tim Heard arrived back in Port Moresby earlier today. We picked them up from the airport and drove them out to Bomana War Cemetery. After a very slow drive back in from 9 mile, we went to the RH Vision centre for some Yum Cha and a drive around Port Moresby before delivering them back to the hotel of their choice the Airways Hotel.

I believe a massage for going to be the on the agenda this afternoon.

Well done guys, and a big thank you for all of us at Kokoda Trekking for choosing to walk with us.
