MemberA group of 6 trekkers flew over to Kokoda around 9am this morning to walk the track. In this group are two women american who arrived in PNG approx two weeks ago and have been sightseeing in the Alotau area before their trek. The remaining 4 trekkers flew in from Australia yesterday. Mid afternoon they were taken to the Royal Papua Yacht Club for dinner and later dropped back at their accommodation.
This morning they were at the Tropicair terminal building at 7am in readiness for their flight to Kokoda. Due to cloudy weather in Kokoda their flight was delayed until 9am.
The original plan was for them to overnight in Kokoda and commence their walk tomorrow however they expressed their desire to start walking today instead of tomorrow. As I type this, they are already up at the Kokoda Station preparing to move off onto the track and head to Hoi.
Trekkers in this group include :

MemberClement that the group have stopped for the night at Brigade Hill. He said they had a short day today but mentioned it was raining on the way down from Kagi to Efogi.
Everyone continues to do well and looking forward to Naoro tomorrow. Clement mentioned they have had the track to themselves having only run into one trekking company at Hoi on their first day.

MemberThink of the trekkers today as they tackle Maguli Range and head towards Ioribaiwa for the night. Yesterday they were at Naoro Village which saw very little military action but was cleared and used by the biscuit bombers' as a parachute drop site.

MemberCongratulations are in order as trekkers walked off the track today and are now back in Port Moresby. Well done to everyone, our KTL boys included.
Thank you for choosing to walk with Kokoda Trekking.
Earlier this morning around 9am I was informed they were at Bomana War Cemetery. After a walk around they would be driven into Port Moresby and will then go to our base to collect their certificate and t/shirt.
Clement pictured on the left in the photograph below was the guide for this trek.
