Trekkers in this group have already had quite a few experiences to talk about once they get back home. They commenced their trek by flying into Popondetta on the 23rd June. They were accompanied by their guide Pat Vainerere. On arrival they were driven into Popondetta to the war museum before being driven up to Pija Village.

After arriving at Pija, trekkers were welcomed by the people living in that area before having a game of touch footy with the local boys. Later they all had a swim in the creek. Last night after their meal they settled around a camp fire and listed to music being sung by Sione Orosambo and other boys living there.

This morning trekkers were up bright and early to travel by road to Kokoda to commence their walk across the track. The trek got away around 9am.

Trekkers in this group include :

After Isurava Village trekkers made their way to Eora Creek for the night. The following morning they were up early to head to Myola and later camp at Bomber's Camp.

Today they walked from Bomber's Camp up to Kagi before heading down to Efogi for the night.

According to Pat, everyone is doing just fine. A couple of the women had a tougher day today than the men but are ok and doing well, just being teased by their friends.

Trekkers had a tough day today which commenced with a walk up to Brigade Hill before hitting the wall and ending up at Agulogo for the night. Everyone continues to do well with the last person arriving at Agulogo around 3pm.

Tonight they are sharing the campsite with another of our treks heading in the opposite direction so no doubt some singing around the campfire can be expected.

My apology as the internet went down and I could not post.

Trekkers have now arrived back in Port Moresby having successfully completed their trek. The rest of their overnights were spent at Agulogo; Ioribaiwa and Gold River last night before walking off the track and under the archway around 8am this morning.

Trekkers are staying on in Port Moresby at the Crowne Plaza to wind down and Pat their guide returned home to Australia this afternoon. As the internet was still down when Pat left, he took the memory card with him and will post photographs on our facebook page later tonight.

Well done everyone from all of us here at Kokoda Trekking.
